It's the Final Countdown!

After nearly 5 years of lying dormant, the time has come to reactivate this blog! 

Jon, Debbie, Daniel, Bethany, and Katie Truax are preparing to once again set out on a major road trip.  This year our destination is the Grand Canyon, and we hope to visit several fascinating detours along the way as well. 

Last time we took a trip of this magnitude, the gas prices were skyrocketing to levels that have still not been surpassed.  Fortunately, we don't have that problem this year.  Instead, forecasts of world record-breaking heat for the southwest United States have been in the headlines - just in time for our trip!

World Record Heat in the SW United States?

Sounds like our challenge this year will be having a really hot time on the road.  As always, we will try to keep you posted as internet coverage allows!
